Pranayama & Meditation

This is a 45 minute practice of cultivating stillness and equanimity.

For the first part of the practice, we work with pranayama – yogic breathing techniques – which will help to settle and quieten the nervous system and the mind.

For the second part of the practice, we will work on cultivating a meditation practice, so that you can take both off your mat, and practise at home, at work, at the beach or the bus stop … wherever you find yourself needing to quieten the mind, and soothe the nerves.

What I’m sharing is simple and accessible, and it’s encouraging and supportive to do it in a group environment, especially our lovely little community of Clunes!

These techniques have been invaluable tools for me, at difficult times in my life, and are especially helpful for anyone living with anxiety, stress, and insomnia, all that is required is practice!  Luckily for me, I learned them when everything was ok in my life, I didn’t realise it at the time, but I was preparing myself for difficult times ahead.  Don’t wait until things get tough to learn how to be with yourself, and how to be ok even when ‘things’ are not ok.

I have scheduled this practice so that we can also make that other great community event on a Thursday evening – plenty of time to get a table at Clunes Pizza Night, feeling steady and relaxed and open to life!

Please feel free to contact me if you would like to know more than what is outlined here, I would love to hear from you.
